Not because you were feeling particularly anal or anything, but simply because MTV’s Room Raiders could come and grab you at any moment.
No matter where we lived – Ireland or the UK – anything was possible and we weren’t going to let any potential mate detect questionable stains with a blacklight in our rooms.
Room Raiders was a beloved mid-noughties TV show that ran for two seasons from 2004 to 2006 and featured all the cool hip people you could wish for, plus the exciting potential of riding along on your motorcycle. Additionally, its 4:3 aspect ratio added an air of authenticity.

Let’s not mince words here – most of us prepubescent repressed children watched Room Raiders to see what the blacklight revealed.

One can tell a lot about someone by the things in their room. Which, we assume, was the entire point of Room Raiders – to tell stories.
No matter where the show was set or who was featured, there was always some guy who looked college age but really wasn’t that much older at heart – even if he did appear to be quite mature for his age.

3. It seemed as if some lad was always topless in the van
Sure enough, MTV was coming over to show Off with Room Raiders today!
Admit it, you wanted to show off your abs. Stop trying to deny that this is happening and accept it for what it is.
4. Zac Efron Was Present
Zac Efron made an appearance, though it was just for one night only – still, he made sure everyone saw who he was and it made for quite the sighting! In all seriousness though, it wasn’t his only appearance that night but still it’s something worth noting nonetheless.
Zac made an appearance on the show’s third season, when he had to break into three girls’ rooms to figure out who he wanted for a date.
Efron was discovered with items such as a diary, an unorganized wardrobe and a pair of red high heels.
Not the most captivating episode of all time.
5. A woman was horrified when someone searched through her underwear drawer
Who could have ever predicted such an amazing turn of events?
Listen, you’re a girl and this man wants to root through your stuff on TV – he’ll start by going straight for the underwear drawer.
It was inevitable.
6. Someone might come across something truly bizarre
Consider investing in an engagement ring.
Or a framed collection of stock images. Or even better yet, grab yourself a real half eaten jawbreaker (Film) that has been sitting on someone’s desk for no apparent reason.
