Milf Manor twist was exactly as we expected!

When TLC first announced Milf Manor, The AV Club observed that “TLC [is] now just copying show ideas directly from 30 Rock,” which featured a fake show called Milf Island with “20 super-hot moms, 50 eighth grade boys… no rules!”

Shannan, one of the women on Milf Manor, was asked about 30 Rock by The New York Post and she replied, “I thought it was hilarious – but no — I’m not into 8th grade boys!”

TLC’s Milf Manor had us expecting something unexpected when its producers revealed how to seduce “eight confident and strong-minded women who leave home for the chance to find love at a paradise destination”. And it worked exactly as we predicted – exactly how we expected.

TLC announced Milf Manor, describing its women participants as “a vibrant group” aged 40-60 with decades of dating experience who will use it to form lasting connections with men half their age. As described by TLC, “this vibrant group” will use their decades of dating expertise to find lasting connections with other like-minded individuals.” The show itself will air on Sunday nights starting April 16th!

Set against the stunning coastline of Mexico, eight women and eight young hunks come together to find love. But is everything as it seems? Tensions rise when eight women and eight young men begin dating and fall in love.

These women range in age and background from a competitive 47-year-old fitness studio owner from Mexico who currently resides in Miami to an energetic 50-year-old “disco mommy” from Orange County; 44-year-old Jersey girl living in Los Angeles; 59 year fitness instructor and singer also living there; to event planner who used to be known as B-Girl back when.

Each episode presents challenges that will test whether a connection is genuine or if it’s time for them to leave the manor. Will these young gentlemen be able to win over MILFs with their beautiful good looks, or will their behavior reveal they lack experience and put them on the cutting block? Chemistry, jealousy and top-notch drama keep things steamy inside the manor.

As the promos promised, there would be a “surprise” for each of the eight women–April Jayne, Charlene, Kelle, Pola, Shannan, Stefany and SoYoung.

What did they discover? That among the 20- and 30-something men they are dating are their own sons!

“Wait! They’re our moms?” one of the men inquired in an interview, seemingly still unaware that he was on a dating show with his own mother.

Yes, the women described as “Mothers I’d Like to Fuck” were indeed their mothers. So has Milf Manor become an Incest Inn?

Close enough: the producers blindfolded the women and had them feel up their own shirtless sons to figure out which one they are biologically related to. That challenge came with a reward of the best hotel room.

Additionally, moms and sons must share a room as the grand manor in Mexico simply couldn’t provide separate bedrooms for each.

Yes, we’ve come a long way from when TLC was The Learning Channel or helped pioneer home renovation with its charming and chaste Trading Spaces segment.

It has been a while since TLC, America’s most repugnant cable network, aired something so shocking that it would garner media coverage.

TLC executives stayed the Duggars around for six extra years to milk the franchise of all money it could, even after much unspeakable behavior had taken place.

Last year, TLC failed to capitalize on their opportunity by using the deaths of 9/11 to promote a special for their phony psychic show.

Sure, 90 Day Fiance provides some drama; however, now that Sister Wives has no more sister wives left to choose from, they needed something else to grab people’s attention and keep them engaged.

Of course, they couldn’t possibly cast older women without humiliating them.

Atlantis magazine’s May Friedman wrote about MILFs, noting that “in both pornography and popular culture [the MILF phenomenon] appears as an antidote to desexualization of women who become mothers,” yet at the same time can “objectify women and reinforce normative views of motherhood.”

Will Milf Manor embrace the sexuality of older women or will their presence make their choices seem gross or disgusting? TLC may not care: as long as people watch and give their shows attention, nothing ever changes.
