When Does B&Q Open?

B&Q and all DIY businesses, as well as supermarkets and banks, were designated as vital retailers and were allowed to remain open throughout the lockdown.

All stores are now open; non-essential retailers were allowed to reopen on April 12th.

Monday through Saturday, stores are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., but check beforehand in case of any local changes.

You can use B&Q’s shop discovery tool to find out when your local store is open.

B&Q has around 300 stores across the United Kingdom.

What Are The New Rules For Shopping At B&Q?

You should expect some safety precautions and guidelines when visiting a B&Q store. You’ll need to adhere to social distancing measures in the store, and if you’re queuing outside, maintain two meters apart and wear a mask unless you’re exempt.

There will be signs and markers indicating what you need to do. Customers should sanitize their hands with the store’s hand sanitizer station before entering the store, according to B&Q’s website.

Customers should also shop in small groups of no more than two individuals. B&Q advises customers to shop during quieter periods of the day, such as early in the morning or late in the afternoon, when there is less crowding.

You should have a shopping list with you so that staff may direct you to the appropriate section rather than allowing you to browse. Wherever possible, contactless payment is favoured over cash at the checkout.

In A lockdown Situation, How To Order At B&Q?

You can order what you want online and pick it up in person, which saves you the trouble of having to walk around stores. Simply select click and collect when making an online purchase and choose the shop you want to pick up your product from.

Unless the store closes earlier, in which case it will be the next day, it will be available in one hour. You’ll need your order confirmation, which you can have on your phone or written out, as well as the card you used to pay and proof of identity (driving licence, passport or proof of age card).

Someone else can pick up your order for you, but they’ll need the order confirmation as well as their own identification. B&Q offers free click and collect.

How Do I Get My Delivered Order To My House From B&Q

You can order online and have it delivered to your home, eliminating the need to go to a store. Next-day and named-day delivery costs £5 or is free for orders over £50, while Sunday delivery costs an extra £5.

Larger products cost £10 or free with orders of £250 or more, and bulk delivery costs £30 or free with orders of £350 or more. Keep in mind that if you’re ordering a full bathroom or kitchen and having it delivered, the process will be different.

On January 5, Boris Johnson declared England’s third national emergency. Non-essential shops were closed from March 16 to June 15 during the first lockdown.

Non-essential shopping was shut down for four weeks during the second lockdown, from November 5 to December 2.
