A car accident occurred on June 21 at around 9:22 p.m. in the city of Williston at the intersection of Highway 2 and 34th St W (Hwy 2 close to mile marker 21).

Williston Injury Crash
On Highway 2 around milepost 21, a 2020 GMC Sierra was moving north. Along 34th St. W., an eastbound 2006 Dodge Durango was moving.
The Dodge crossed Highway 2 to the east as it approached the crossroads of Highway 2 and 34th St. W. The Dodge did not grant the GMC the right of way.
The GMC rolled after being struck on the driver’s side by the Dodge.
On its wheels, the GMC came to rest in the east ditch. The Durango came to a stop at the junction of 34th St. W. and Highway 2’s northbound lanes.
The GMC’s driver was thrown from the car and taken by EMS to CHI St. Alexius in Williston.
He sustained severe wounds and was a 43-year-old man from Rapid City, South Dakota.
The Dodge’s driver and passenger were also taken to CHI St. Alexius by ambulance.
The 19-year-old female passenger and the 20-year-old male driver of the Dodge both sustained minor injuries.
While the driver and passenger of the Dodge were both wearing seatbelts, the GMC’s driver was not.
The weather was partially sunny and the roads were in fair condition at the time of the accident.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol is still looking into the collision.
