Who Is Gerard Piqué’s Girlfriend? All About Clara Chia Marti
Gerard Pique and Clara Chia Marti have officially tied the knot. Marti and Pique have been linked since they were photographed together at a music festival in August 2022.
Just months prior to that announcement, Pique announced his split from ex Shakira after dating her for over 11 years. In a joint statement released shortly thereafter, the couple — who share two sons named Milan and Sasha — confirmed their decision to part ways.
“We regret to announce that we are divorcing,” the statement read. “At this time, our children’s wellbeing is our top priority; therefore, we kindly request privacy for their sake and appreciate your understanding and respect in advance.”
After their breakup, Pique has been linked to Marti — though the exact origin of their relationship remains uncertain. Since being first spotted together, the couple have been quietly dating for several months, only being seen out in public on special occasions.
Though they attempted to keep their relationship under wraps, Shakira made headlines when she seemingly dissed their relationship in two songs – “BZRP Music Session #53” and “TQG.”
On January 31st 2023, Pique and Marti made their social media debut by sharing their first-ever selfie on the platform.

She and Pique attended a wedding together in Spain
Pique and Marti were first spotted together at a wedding in Catalonia, Spain. As the couple strolled arm-in-arm and shared laughs, as well as mingling with other guests present, Pique and Marti seemed to have struck an instant rapport.

Two songs featuring Shakira reference her relationship with Pique
On January 20, 2023, Shakira released “BZRP Music Session #53,” in which she appeared to poke fun at Pique and his new relationship. Not only did Shakira label a prior relationship as “disappointment” and refer to someone as giving her their “worst version,” but she also sang that she wished she had ended it sooner.
“Sorry baby,” she sang in part, nodding to her 2009 hit “She Wolf,” released just before they met in 2010. “A she-wolf like me is not for rookies / A she-wolf like me is not for guys like you / And that’s why you’re with someone just like you,” she added with an accent.
Shakira appeared to give more specifics about their breakup in her song: “You left me my mother-in-law as my neighbor / Media outlets at my door and in debt with the government,” alluding to her ongoing tax fraud trial in Spain. She continued, “You thought you hurt me but made me stronger / Women don’t cry anymore, they cash in.”
One month later, Shakira released another song entitled “TQG,” which spoke about accepting that one’s former lover has moved on.
“Seeing you with the new one hurt me / But I’m already set by myself,” Shakira sings, likely alluding to Pique and Marti’s relationship. “You are no longer welcome here / I saw what your girlfriend threw at me / It doesn’t make me angry, it makes me laugh.”
Shakira then reiterated her statement that her former “new baby” should know she doesn’t “compete for men”.
