The perfect haute spot! If you really want to impress you date with good taste, look no further than this contemporary Asian restaurant. Chef Vikramjit Roy is a whiz and can plate up the most interesting, diverse flavours in a single dish to leave you suitably wowed. The plates are pretty too. The food is light, chic and unusual. Tian is the progressive Asian cuisine restaurant at ITC Maurya in Delhi known for its avant-garde cooking and artistic imagination lent to the dishes by their chef. Situated on a terrace level, the restaurant can easily seat 60+ diners in its modern yet comfortable seating in an alfresco style. The soothing live music and beautifully done up PDR’s (Private Dining Rooms) aptly compliment the creations of the Chef. There are three types of tasting menus available at Rs 2500, Rs3500 and Rs5000 (excluding taxes) per person, depending upon the ingredients used, which changes every season. I chose the best of Tian.

Named after Seville, the famous art and cultural capital of Southern Spain, Sevilla is a very popular Mediterranean restaurant of New-Delhi. Known for its eclectic Spanish cuisine, the space has been designed by Sachi Gupta of Synthesis Design Studio.This is by far the most beautiful restaurant in the city. The perfect combination of outdoor and indoor seating, the charm is hard to escape in the evenings, especially with the soft lighting. Sit on the bar for some cocktails and then move into a cabana or a private table and load up on the wine and the sangria, order some tapas, grills and paella, which they have always done a fair job of. It is a lovely experience.

Lavaash by Saby is located in the very aesthetic Ambavatta One Complex, which houses everything classy. You can see the tastefulness of the place just as you step foot inside. The bright colors of the walls and the furniture upholstery are mood uplifters. The chair tapestry has peacock motifs on it, peacock being the national bird of Armenia. The ambience of the place has a contemporary style and yet, an old world charm to it. At Lavaash, there is not just a pretty balcony but an entire terrace with a grandstand view of the Qutab. Order your drinks, settle down with the bakes and you have a match made in heaven.

This is a recent discovery, but a worthy one. The cabanas at the JW Marriott Aerocity make for an exclusive date venue. If you want to splurge and do something really special, book one and order a special bespoke meal. Usually, the poolside serves food only from the coffee shop, but if you are setting this one up specially, do it right and get a meal tailored for the two of you. Dine at one of our seven on-site restaurants, including Akira Back, which serves inventive Japanese cuisine with a Korean twist.

5. Kylin, Ambience Mall
The Kylin terrace in Vasant Kunj is a much sought after venue in Delhi winters and for good reason. Situated in Ambience Mall VasantKunj, this restaurant serves Japanese & other oriental cuisines. They also have a ‘Kylin Express’in the same Mall – at the food court. The Restaurant is very tastefully made. As you enter, you realize that the Restaurant has a dim Lighting with individual lights near tables. Amidst this dim lighting, on the right hand side is a glass box that is illuminated & hence it totally stands out –different types of visually appealing sushis displayed in it. A little further, there is the bar area & then is the restaurant area. Beyond the Restaurant area is the area that appeals to me most in a Japanese Restaurant – Teppanyaki counter (Japanese live grill).
