The shocking news is that Tom Volk, 63, has died. The Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps confirmed his death on the 29th of November 2022. Read on to find out how Tom Volk died?
He was also a member of the Blue Stars Hall of Fame. In the autumn of 2008, he was involved in the Blue Stars organization (the period between summer and winter when the temperature gradually drops) and he participated in the Oktoberfest procession.

According to reports, the Blue Stars have not yet confirmed his death. However, a statement from the Blue Stars Organisation has released a death statement that states, “He will be remembered for his vegetarian specials.
His HBTY wishes. His keen sense of humor. And most importantly, his kindness towards all people he met.” Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones during this difficult time.
He gave thousands of dollars in scholarships to people in need who aspire to march in the Blue Stars. He was the principal contributor to Volk’s Wagon in 2014-15, a new trailer for equipment that was realized.
Who was Tom Volk?
Tom Volk was a doctoral student at the University of Wisconsin Madison and worked for Dr. Tom Leonard in a tumor-causing Schizophyllum community.
He received his Ph.D. in 1998 and then worked as a professor in the biology department at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse.
He teaches courses like General Mycology and Medical Mycology with Greg Sandland, 21st Century Mycology and Organismal Biology, Plant-Microbe Interactions, Advanced Mycology and Food & Industrial Mycology with S.N. Rajagopal, Organismal Biology, Latin and Greek for Scientists as well as Plant Biology.
Tom was a wonderful volunteer and a great person. His friendship will be remembered forever. He is patient, kind, and a living man.
Although I didn’t have much time with him, he was a wonderful soul who worked so hard and reached out to many. He is also remembered for his kindness and generosity on social media.
