We are deeply sad to announce that Sinikiwe Mpofu died, the beloved assistant coach for the Zimbabwe women’s soccer team. Sinikiwe Morofu, 37, has died.

According to Twitter updates, Sinikiwe Mpofu’s death was confirmed by Zimbabwe cricket association.

It’s hard to believe she passed away so young, as she was only 37 years old when she died.

She was talented, young, and served as the assistant coach for the Zimbabwe women’s soccer team. On Monday, January 9, 2023, she died. The announcement was made via Twitter.

Zimbabwe Women’s Team Association tweeted “It is with great sadness that Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC), announces the sudden passing of Senior Women’s National Team assistant Coach Sinikiwe Mpofu.

This happened less than a month after her husband Shepherd Makunura was laid to rest.” Sinikiwe Mpofu, who was an assistant coach for the team, was also the Zimbabwe International Cricket Player known simply as Sneeze.

According to reports, the cause has not been released. Sinikiwe Mpofu’s post-mortem has yet to take place.

He was also the Zimbabwe Senior Men’s National Team Fielding Coach, and Southern Rocks Head coach.

Born Sinikiwe Mpofu in Bulawayo on February 21, 1985. She was a skilled all-rounder and was part of the Zimbabwe Women’s Team.

In December 2006, she played her first match. Sinikiwe Mpofu began playing cricket when she was just a high school student at Mpopoma.

After moving to Harare, she joined Takashinga Cricket Club. She was then selected for the Northerns team.

After her cricket career was over, she became a coach and was offered a spot in the Zimbabwe Women’s Cricket Team at national level.
