Samuel joseph mozes Cynthia Nixon celebrated her son Seph’s graduation with a social media post that some media outlets reported as an indication of his coming out as transgender.
On Friday, New York gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon, star of “Sex and the City,” shared an Instagram message in honor of Trans Day of Action – an annual event that highlights the struggles experienced by transgender individuals.
“I am immensely proud of my son Samuel Joseph Mozes (known as Seph) who graduated college this month. I salute him and everyone else celebrating today’s #TransDayofAction,” Nixon wrote in her caption for a photo featuring her and Seph presumably on their graduation day from the University of Chicago.
Seph, 21, is Nixon’s oldest child from her former partner Danny Mozes. Additionally, she shares a 15-year-old son with Mozes and a 7-year-old with Christine Marinoni, her spouse.
Nixon, 52, is challenging New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo for the Democratic nomination in 2020.
A Nixon representative did not immediately respond to a HuffPost request for comment.
