Over the course of several years, investigations into what transpired have yielded only few clues and no definitive answers; her case likely one of two featured on Investigation Discovery’s “Nevertheless a Thriller: Indiana Unsolved”.

Unfortunately, her family has struggled greatly to make decisions due to an absence of data. So in case you were wondering what became of Molly, here’s what we know so far:

How Did Molly Dattilo Pass Away? Molly was the ninth and final child born into her family, growing up in Madison, Indiana.

As a young woman she possessed many talents as well as being an outgoing, gregarious, and reliable individual. Unfortunately, Molly succumbed to cancer at just 22 years old. Molly had achieved academic success and demonstrated her athletic prowess.

As a result, she earned a working scholarship to Japanese Kentucky College – all appearing to be going well for the 22-year-old man. Molly attended Indiana College-Purdue University’s summer session in Indianapolis in 2004, with the intention of applying for “American Idol.”

On July 6th 2004, her day began similarly to any other. At that time, Molly lived with her brother in an Indianapolis condo; they both considered it home at that time.

At around 7 o’clock that night, Molly took care of some essentials and headed off to class. Following that, Molly attended a celebration held at her condominium complex.

At 11 o’clock she called a friend from a pay phone at an oil station three miles away but unfortunately the call was cut off before they could finish their sentence; thereafter nobody heard from or about Molly again until 2017, when her death was officially acknowledged by her family members (though why it happened remains uncertain).

What was Molly Dattilo Death Cause?

Molly encountered a familiar face as she made her way to the fast food establishment, and that individual remembered that Molly had her phone with her.

Soon enough, however, the system had been installed within Molly’s flat. On July 6, 2004, she met John Shelton at a party held at her building. She was introduced to him by one of her closest friends.

After they left the gathering, the two went on a ship tour and then had dinner at Taco Bell – this according to the findings of the inquiry. The decision was made around 11 pm via payphone three miles away in a different direction from their condo.

When John was questioned later, he acknowledged having been with Molly when she made her decision; however, he claimed to have dropped her off at home after it was made.

This left John as the last person who saw her alive at any cut-off date. Nick, Molly’s brother, did not immediately report her missing due to it being common for Molly to take unplanned journeys.

Nick believed Molly had returned safely home; however, when Molly still hadn’t returned or been in contact with anyone by July 8, 2004, Nick became concerned – however authorities didn’t take much notice as they believed she had left on her own accord.

Molly Dattilo: What Happened?

On Tuesday, July 6th 2004, Molly followed her usual routine and went off to work. Later that afternoon she decided to go shopping for a present for her younger nephew’s upcoming birthday and also wanted to drop off some job applications.

One night around 7:00 p.m., Molly made the decision to walk to Wendy’s fast-food restaurant by herself. She had a job application that needed dropping off there which was about half a mile away from her house. As Molly was out walking or possibly even at Wendy’s, she came face-to-nose with one of her brother’s friends; they had an animated conversation for one minute before Molly parted ways with them to return to her flat.

Once Molly returned home, she visited a friend’s condo to observe other people lazing around. Molly started talking to a younger man named John Shelton as he passed by on foot.

John eventually persuaded her to join him for an excursion on one of many small ponds within the complex; as his brother Benji worked there as an upkeep employee, John had access to all the flats.

With Benji’s assistance, John successfully acquired his boat which had been stashed away in a shed. Afterwards, John and Molly took a short journey in it together.
