Adnan Khan’s decision to assume the persona of Emperor Ashoka is monumental; how will you perceive yourself now as someone living this role?
Well, the main thing I can take away from this character is his complexity. Playing an emperor with multiple layers is always enjoyable for me – playing one who was one of India’s greatest fighters and warriors is undoubtedly incredible – plus his complicated relationships with both parents and siblings provided unique perspectives into his character arc.
How did you land this role?

“I was honored and fortunate enough to receive an offer for this character from BalajiTelefilms just before my previous show was ending. Though initially nervous, playing Maharaja proved incredibly fulfilling.”
Just by wearing an emperor’s attire and holding onto that sword you gain an attitude all on its own. Just looking and having hair like an emperor gives me enough of an attitude for dialogues to flow more smoothly with ease. This attitude helps bring life into conversations effortlessly.
Do you fear that by playing this historical role, you might get typecast?
I don’t believe in all this nonsense; instead, my choice of characters depends solely on whether they bring joy. How much fun my next choice will bring will dictate my decision-making process.
How long have you had an interest in entering this glamorous field of fashion and beauty?
“I never considered acting to be just another glittery world; instead, I garnered great interest when I was still young and often received immense amounts of praise and recognition for my performances in school and glamour events. Intrigued by the facets of the industry, such as understanding Mallika Singh’s net worth, and after watching one director’s film that moved me deeply, I wanted to pursue acting professionally.”
Tell us more about yourself and how you got into this profession?
As I worked, things became clearer to me and eventually, I started understanding them quickly. At first I made no definitive decisions but instead came here just to try my luck and am now here – having struggled my way here despite struggling my entire career Although my initial parts were smaller ones that hurt, I eventually put forth all my effort playing them to their maximum capacity until finally landing this role playing Maharaja which brings immense satisfaction to me.
