Score in ODI
Table of Contents
Occasion all-singing and all-dancing, the Twenty20 cricket is the one-day format. It has lost little of its sparkle, but it has still produced many spectacular moments over the years.
I own the highest score ever in the history of the Highest Individual Score in ODI.
Sachin Tendulkar
His ScoreScore with 200, not out of 147 balls. In the year 2010 in Gwalior.
With the T20 deep in full swing, it is perhaps no surprise that someone’s series of problems smashed a double century. That is why serial record-breaker cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is even less of a surprise.
In the middle of a reasonably meaningless ODI series against the South Africa team, Sachin walks with long to the line to face an attack lead by cricketer Dale Steyn whose ten wicketless overs went for 89 runs.
With147 balls later, the Sachin was walking off the pitch to a standing ovation of 200 runs to his name.
He raised his 50 in the 37 balls. The century in just 90, but the second ton took at just 57 balls. ESPN gives a more detailed analysis of the innings and the video, which was a master class, is here.
Virender Sehwag
Cricketer Virender has scored 219, not out of 149 balls. In the year 2011 in Indore.
If it a Test Match or a T20 or an ODI. Cricketer Virender Sehwag has only known one way to bat. Whether it is his day and the spectators need to watch it closely for their safety.
He was captaining with his country in this match against the team of the West Indies. The aggressive opener hit the second ball to the boundary and never looked back after reaching the edge ahead on occasions of 31.
Sehwag’s first century took just 69 balls and the second only 71 balls. And surprisingly, there were still 21 deliveries remaining when dismissing cricketer Sehwag.
Of course, the Indian team went on to win the contest one can watch the highest ever individual innings in the ODI cricket right here.
Rohit Sharma
India’s recent vice-captain is at the top of this list of highest individual ODI scores by a batsman. He played an unimaginable score of 264 runs not out against the team Sri Lanka.
Other than hitting the highest individual ODI score, he also created some other records. He made the record of facing the most number of balls in an inning with 173 balls and hitting the most number of 44 boundaries with 33 fours and nine sixes.
He also scored 264 runs with a stately strike rate of 152 in the ODI. That is considered a reasonable strike rate in T20 cricket. India made 404 runs in that match, and team Sri Lanka bowled out for just 251 runs. That was 13 runs less than cricketer Rohit Sharma’s innings.
Chris Gayle
The 4th cricketer in the list of Top 10 highest ODI score by a batsman is team West Indies called power hitter Chris Gayle. He made 215 runs in 147 balls against the Zimbabwe team.
He hit ten fours and 16 sixes in his innings. That is equally the record of most number of sixes in an innings of cricketer Rohit Sharma.
I called him to be the 1st batsman to hit a double hundred in the ODI world cup. He and cricketer Martin Guptill both hit ODI double hundred in the year 2015 world cup. Cricketer Chris Gayle was the 1st to get his success.
Gayle, along with cricketer Marlon Samuels with 133 runs, also made the highest partnership in an ODI match with 372 runs.
Martin Guptil
The 2nd player in the highest individual ODI score by the batsman is New Zealand’s opener batsman name Martin Guptil. Guptil made 237 runs after facing 163 balls against the team of the West Indies.
The best thing about his innings was that this came in the year 2015. ODI world cup quarter-final match, which makes it even more memorable. He hit around 24 fours and 11 sixes in his innings with a strike rate of 145. West Indies team were bowled out for only 250 runs and lost this match by only 143 runs.
Fakhar Zaman
Cricketer Fakhar Zaman of Pakistan is the 5th batsman in the list of top individual run-scorers in an ODI match. He scored around 210 runs in 156 balls. He hit 25 fours and five sixes in this innings against the team Zimbabwe.
Drives Pakistan to their innings total of 399 runs for the loss of only one wicket. Because of his innings, team Pakistan easily won the match on defeating Zimbabwe’s team by a significant margin of 244 runs.
Charles Coventry
Zimbabwe’s cricketer Charles Coventry has 9th position in the top 10 highest individual scores in ODI. He made around 194 runs after facing 156 balls. He remained not out till the end.
Made this ScoreScore against the team of Bangladesh in the year 2009. Bangladesh’s team was not as good as they are today.
He hit 16 fours and seven sixes in his innings with a strike rate of 124 but was unable to complete with the 200 runs. But with his 194 runs, the Zimbabwe team only managed to get 312 runs. Zimbabwe’s team lost the match as the Bangladesh team caught up with 13 balls remaining.
So, these are the Top Cricketers so far who had created history on making Highest Individual Score in the ODI. These Cricketers are made Indians proud of their highest achievement in cricket.
