Creepy Joe : Over 3 million people have watched Joe Biden’s whispering video: ‘Wait, what did I just see?’
More than 3 million people have watched video of President Joe Biden frequently whispering at a press conference at the White House on Thursday.
During a press conference in the White House East Room on Thursday evening, Biden whispered responses to reporter’s queries three times while discussing a $1.2 trillion infrastructure agreement that he claimed he would support provided it contained a supplemental second package.
According to a White House statement, the deal will contain $1.2 trillion in infrastructure funding over an eight-year period, but is less than the $2.3 trillion he had planned to settle on with the Senate.
Biden bent over his lectern and whispered his comments to reporters as he answered questions on the accord, ostensibly to underline the plan’s essential points and his efforts as president since his inauguration on January 20.
When asked about further aid for families affected by the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, Biden leant over the speaker and whispered, “I got them $1.9 trillion in relief so far.”
This week, they’ll receive important daycare checks in the mail.”
Later in the briefing, CNN reporter Phil Mattingly questioned Biden how the deal was reached despite low expectations, and Biden responded, “I’m not going to bargain with the press when I’m negotiating with my colleagues.”
“And these are difficult choices.” I don’t ignore what Senator (Chris) Murphy has to say about the environment in any way. I’m not dismissing it.”
“I wrote the bill on the environment,” he said, dropping his voice to a whisper and leaning over the lectern. “What makes you think I wouldn’t be for it?”
Biden then addressed conservative accusations that some Americans would choose to collect unemployment benefits, which are currently worth an extra $300 per week due to the pandemic, rather than return to work, before whispering to the reporters, “Pay them more.”
This is an employee’s negotiating chip right now.”
The president’s repeated whispering sparked outrage on social media, with a tape from the press conference published on Twitter by conservative website Townhall.com receiving over 3 million views.
Several prominent conservatives shared and blasted the outlet’s video, with former Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany captioning it, “What did I just watch!?” as she shared it with her over 2 million followers.
“This is insane,” GOP strategist Matt Whitlock captioned a video of Biden whispering.
“‘Creepy’ Joe just took on a new meaning,” Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) said in response to the video. Brigitte Gabriel, a prominent conservative activist, expressed a similar feeling about the same video, tweeting, “Disturbing Joe is very creepy.”
Biden announced the arrangement with senators on the White House driveway prior to the briefing on Thursday, adding, “I clearly didn’t get everything I wanted.”
“I believe they gave more than they were inclined to give in the first place.”
Later, he told reporters in the White House that he would only sign the pact if tax hikes and social-service expenditures were added in a separate agreement, saying, “If they don’t arrive, I’m not signing it.” “It’s that easy.”
