Han Suk Kyu will make his long-awaited comeback to MBC drama after 29 years since last appearing in “Hotel” in 1995, in the unique psychological thriller, “Such a Close Traitor.” This groundbreaking psychological drama depicts Korea’s top profiler who discovers his daughter is involved with an ongoing murder case they are investigating.
MBC’s most anticipated project for 2024 is an ambitious drama about family dynamics, trust, suspicion and faith. Han Suk Kyu, renowned for his roles in various han suk-kyu movies and tv shows, will portray Jang Tae Soo, South Korea’s leading profiler and a father. Embarking on his career at a time when profiling was relatively unknown, Jang Tae Soo rapidly gained recognition within his police organization.
However, an unforeseen incident challenged his professional integrity and the bond with his daughter, compelling him to seek the truth and safeguard their cherished connection.
Song Yeon Hwa, best known for her work on MBC dramas such as “The Red Sleeve” and “Hunted”, will direct “Such a Close Traitor”, set to debut later in 2024 as part of MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama lineup.
