The actor played Gerard in every Twin Peaks episode. He was 17, when he was involved in a car accident. He appeared in several films, including Megaville (1990), where he was cast with Ricochet River and Billy Zane. He was retired by the 2000s.
Who was Strobel?
Strobel was born in Seattle, Washington. Strobel lost his left arm at the shoulder in an accident while he was just 17 years old. While he was living in Oregon, he co-founded the Church of the Creative. He also performed at the University of Oregon’s plays.
He captured a video of the Grateful Dead concert in Veneta on August 27, 1972. This footage was later used for the film Sunshine Daydream.
He appeared in the movies Shadow Play and Megaville as well as the Twin Peaks series. Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me starring Kate Hudson was also a part of his role. He was also a part of plays such as Oklahoma, Richard III, and Romeo and Juliet.
Screenshots of Sutherland’s Facebook posting went viral immediately after the actor shared the sad news. Twin Peaks cast members as well as fans paid their respects to Sutherland.
Mark Frost, co-creator of the series, posted on Twitter “Oh no…Dear Al”, in a tribute to his friend. “What a kind, great gentleman he was,” as many of those who had the chance to meet him over time can attest.
Twin Peaks fans were just as shocked when they remembered the important role Strobel played in the series.
According to Reddit user Slashycent, Strobel was an amazing performer and made a significant contribution in solving the Twin Peaks mystery.
