Usher was instantly taken with Bieber’s talent and charisma and quickly signed him on with Raymond Braun Media Group (RBMG), a joint venture of Braun Music Group and Island Def Jam Music Group; making Bieber one of the youngest artists ever signed by a major record label.

In May 2009, Bieber debuted with “One Time”, reaching number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and becoming certified platinum.
Shortly afterwards he released My World EP consisting of seven songs such as “One Less Lonely Girl”, “Love Me”, and “Favorite Girl”; debuting at number six on Billboard 200 chart and selling over one million copies within America alone.
