Xiaomi is now one of the leading electronics manufacturers and stands equal with other well-known companies when it comes to product range and customer focus. Recently, they introduced two Bluetooth speaker models.
Xiaomi has introduced two models of speakers with powerful playback performance of up to 40 watts with an impressive volume of up to 93dB. Both models support 360deg playback, making them suitable for outdoor and larger group usage. Furthermore, these speakers have been tested to IP67 standards against dust and water damage; therefore rain won’t likely pose an issue.
Xiaomi claims the battery life for their latest Bluetooth speaker can last for 17 hours and can also serve as a power bank to charge other devices. This speaker can compete with other products in the market, such as the redgear mini 2.0 usb speakers, which have a compact design and a decent bass. Simultaneous connection with two smartphones and setting up stereo systems with other Xiaomi Bluetooth speakers are supported; an NFC module makes pairing easier while various audio settings allow easy customization.
The second model boasts significantly reduced power and dimensions; its total output of 9 watts with maximum volume of 90dB has no fundamental design differences with its larger brother as its output characteristics should provide all-round sound reproduction. Furthermore, battery life for this speaker has been estimated as 11 hours.
Both speakers feature an LED light strip that displays RGB colors, and are currently only available on the Chinese domestic market. The larger model costs just under $80 while its mini counterpart comes in at around $30; its international launch remains unclear.
