In 2015, Becky Watts, a 16-year-old student residing in Bristol with her father, Darren Galsworthy, and his wife, Angie, was a 16-year-old student.
Her relatives reported her missing on February 20 about 4 p.m., saying her disappearance was “out of character.”
#FindBecky was established as a social media effort, but it was too late.
The unfortunate adolescent had been slain the day before she was reported missing, it was later discovered.
Her death was announced on February 19, 2015, which also happened to be her brother Dan’s 20th birthday.
Her body was discovered sliced up and concealed by her nasty step-brother Nathan Matthews and his girlfriend Shauna Hoare as part of a sadistic kidnapping plot.
Becky had sustained almost 40 injuries in her frantic fight for survival against the evil duo, before she was suffocated and her body washed up in a bathtub.
The cold-blooded killers then stuffed Becky’s body into the boot of their Vauxhall Zafira and pretended as if nothing had happened for another six hours.
Becky’s body was sliced into eight pieces with an £80 circular saw purchased from B&Q at their home two miles away.
Who is Nathan Matthews?
Nathan Matthews, the grandson of Anjie Galsworthy, was raised by his grandma Margaret May and her husband Christopher.
After being diagnosed with fibromyalgia, a rheumatic ailment, he experienced pain, despair, and anxiety from an early age.
At the time of Becky’s murder, he was dating Shauna Hoare, a quiet but hardworking woman who looked after his crippled mother.
She spent her childhood in foster care before reuniting with her birth mother, Lisa Donovan, who had seven other children.
But behind their ostensibly typical lives, the two were hiding dark secrets, including a bizarre sexual fascination with small youngsters and threesome sex sessions.
Matthews and his girlfriend, who lived together in a housing association terraced house in Bristol, had exchanged personal messages about kidnapping girls in the weeks leading up to Becky’s death.
They arrived at Becky’s house on February 19, 2015, armed with a “kidnap kit” that included handcuffs and two stun guns.
During the five-week trial at Bristol Crown Court, Nathan described how he used a circular saw to dismember his step-body sister’s while closing his eyes.
He then placed Becky, who weighed nine stone, in a red bag and returned to his house, before asking a buddy £10,000 to store his belongings.
Despite this, they ordered takeout, played Monopoly, and laughed out loud at a Frozen spoof song called Do You Want to Hide a Body?
What was Shauna Hoare’s demeanour around cops?
Shauna Hoare is shown smirking as she gets a joy out of lying to cops after murdering her murderous boyfriend’s step-sister Becky Watts in new footage.
Hoare appears to be having a good time as she tries to fool cops while she and Matthews weave a web of falsehoods.
However, specialists on Investigation Discovery’s Faking It: Tears Of A Crime highlighted how Hoare gave up telltale indications while being interrogated by cops.
When queried about Becky’s absence, Cliff Lansley points out Hoare’s smile and says: “This is referred to as ‘duping delight,’ or the thrill of getting away with lying.
“She has no control over those small smiles… She believes she has the upper hand here.”
What were Nathan Matthews’ and Shauna Hoare’s sentences?
Matthews was found guilty of her murder in November 2015 and sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 33 years.
Hoare was found guilty of manslaughter in the death of Becky and was sentenced to 17 years in jail.
In June 2016, the pair lost their appeal to get their 50-year joint sentence for her murder overturned.
The judges concluded that “no conceivable argument” exists that the convictions were “unsafe or that the penalties were incorrect.”
What has Becky’s father said on daughter’s murder
Darren Galsworthy has previously slammed his wife Anjie’s son, whom he raised as if he were his own, calling it a “despicable act of wickedness” that “can never be forgiven or forgotten.”
Anjie has acknowledged that she still loves her murdering son, “but not the monster he turned into,” since his conviction.
Darren has acknowledged to using prescription medicines to help him cope with the grief of losing his adolescent daughter.
He claims he is responsible for Becky’s death because he failed to defend her from killer Nathan Matthews and his girlfriend Shauna Hoare.
He told the Bristol Post on the two-year anniversary of Becky’s death: “Becky’s battle for her life ended on this day, and she lost.
“The notion of this day makes me sick to my stomach.
“I believe that as a father, I should have been present to safeguard her. But I needed to work to support my family.
“I’m on a lot of medications right now, and I’m not sure how I’ll make it.”
