Tinnitus is a condition that causes ears or head to ring or make noise. While most of us have experienced this sensation after concerts or other loud events, some individuals suffer from ongoing tinnitus which can interfere with sleep, stress levels, and quality of life.
Shatner’s tinnitus is the result of his exposure to one of the on-set explosions while filming Star Trek. Since then, Shatner has been struggling with this condition and has sought treatment from the American Tinnitus Association. Now an advocate for those affected by tinnitus, Shatner regularly speaks out about his condition and encourages others to seek treatment as well.
