Lawsuits | Twon Peaks Restaurant

Kevin Laughlin, the owner of Grand Tetons LLC DBA Northern Exposure, was accused of trademark infringement by Twin Peaks’ parent company (Twin Restaurant IP LLC) in November 2010.

After one of Twin Peaks’ franchisees observed a billboard identical to Twin Peaks but advertising Northern Exposure, the lawsuit was filed to stop it from launching in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Kevin Laughlin agreed to pay Twin Peaks’ legal bills after the lawsuit was settled in the spring of 2011.

Former Hooters executives Coby Brooks, CLO Clay Mingus, Joseph Hummel, Jim Tessmer, Roger Gondek and Patti Frederick, the business administrator for the late Robert H. Brooks (founder of Hooters), founded La Cima Restaurants LLC, a Twin Peaks franchisee, in July 2011.
