1. Taktsang Palphug Monastery
Taktsang Monastery also known as Tiger’s Nest Monastery, is in Paro, Bhutan, about 10 kilometers north of Paro. The monastery is one of the most venerated places of pilgrimage in the Himalayan region. The legend behind the Tiger’s Nest monastery is just as amazing and magical. It’s high on a cliff about 3200 meters above the sea level. There are a way to reach Tiger’s Nest monastery up close either by hike for about 2-4 hours, depend on your speed and strength, second by ride the horse, slightly faster however only till half way, (until cafeteria stages) other halfway still need to hike. The second stage is the viewing point where about 800 steps to reach the monastery.
2. Punakha Dzong

The hike since the begging is amazing, you have wonderful views of Tigers Nest, as you get higher and higher you get to admire the different views of it. Once inside it’s amazing to see all the rooms, and hear all the history this place has. Go to a Terrance and just admire the wonderful scenery as well as listen to how quite this place really is. It’s really a very special place. You can stop at the cafeteria to refresh (tea/ coffee biscuits for breakfast) and good veg meal for lunch. You don’t need a guide to climb up this place.
5. Buddha Dordenma
An immense statue of Budha, overlooking the City of Thimphu. A must visit in Bhutan and marvelous construction. This is the tallest Buddha in the world and it felt quite gauche with all the very new goldness. The magnificent Buddha statue is visible from almost every location around Thimphu. When you reach the Buddha point you can have a bird eye view of the beautiful Thimphu city. There is a temple just below the statue which has beautiful architecture inside. It will probably be the eighth wonder of the world. It is also a good trek in Thimpu and it takes about 2 1/2 hours to reach the top, which offers beautiful views of the city below.
