Movie theatres are displaying excellent signs of post-pandemic recovery thanks to certain predictable blockbusters (Avatar: The Way of Water) and some unexpected hits (M3GAN), and February is expected to continue that trend. As usual, there were a few titles that we were certain would place in the top five, but there were also a few surprises. The most eagerly awaited movies of February are listed here.

1. Pharmacy Bear 2023

This little gem, which, in case you didn’t know, is based (however loosely) on true events, is one of the big surprises on this month’s list. According to legend, a bear overdosed on a duffle bag of cocaine that had been dumped by drug smugglers from a plane in the Georgia woods in 1985. Although no one was ever murdered by the real cocaine bear, writer Jimmy Warden and director Elizabeth Banks rightly saw an opportunity for absurdity and elevated the story to new levels of absurdity. Our social media surveys’ findings indicate that they made the proper choice.

2. Ring The Cabin’s Door 2023

After an infamous string of critical duds, M. Night Shyamalan has been steadily regaining admirers, and his most recent feature, an adaptation of a book about a family harassed by a gang of strangers with peculiar motives, appears to be one of his most promising recent efforts. This might be the first major success of the month because Dave Bautista is already receiving excellent reviews for his performance as one of the surprise visitors.

3. Quantumania In Ant-man And The Wasp 2023

We would cite each month’s poll in which a Marvel movie debuted if there was any lingering doubt that the studio was somehow losing ground. Every new MCU film quickly goes to the top of the list, and this month is no exception. It undoubtedly helps that fans are excited about Quantumania’s promise to advance the universe plot that has been hinted throughout Phase 4.

4. Winnie The Pooh Blood And Honey 2023

When a well-liked character is made available to everyone and a few sick yahoos decide to have fun with it, this is what happens. As Christopher Robin left for college in 2022 and A.A. Milne’s first Winnie-the-Pooh novel became part of the public domain, writer-director Rhys Frake-Waterfield pondered what might happen if Pooh and Piglet returned to their original wild impulses. It’s no surprise that one of our most anticipated movies is this tongue-in-cheek horror movie that follows the merry couple as they go on a blood-fueled rampage.

5. The Fallen Sun, Luther 2023

Idris Elba’s captivating lead performance as the eponymous character made the British crime drama series Luther a major hit with a certain segment of viewers. Fans clamoured for more after it concluded in 2019 after five seasons, so there is now a full film sequel that sets Elba’s now-disgraced detective against a serial killer terrorising London. The movie will premiere in theatres in late February before becoming available on Netflix in March, and fans are certainly excited to watch it there.
