Tommy Lee, the drummer for the rock band Mötley Crüe, startled his unwitting followers earlier this month by sharing a grid shot of his nude lap with his infamous penis on full display. Despite the platform’s strong nudity policies, the image mysteriously remained online for at least five hours before being removed.
But at least now we are aware of his motivation. The 59-year-old provided a perfectly logical justification for the unedited photo during a concert in San Antonio, Texas, over the weekend: he was “on a motherf*cking bender.” You guys, rock and roll!
In a video he also tweeted on Sunday, Lee told the crowd, “A couple of weeks ago, we had a two-week break off the tour, and I went on a motherf*cking bender dude, a bender. “I got undressed and shared pics of my dick after getting f*cking sideways as f*ck.”
Intriguingly, Lee continued, “And generally, I mean I’m a titty man, so I prefer to see titties, but tonight — tonight it’s equal-opportunity night.” I want to see everyone’s dick tonight. Boys, get your s— together. Take your fucking garbage out. Let’s leave.
Then he made an effort to prod a man in the audience sporting a pink polo shirt into removing his penis. Lee commanded him from the podium, “Show the world that mothers*cking hot dog,” but the man shook his head and pointed at the woman he was with. “The wife refuses? Divorce!” said Lee.

You know, it’s usually better to heed the advice of the wife than to risk being accused of indecent exposure. Thus, in contrast to Lee’s apparent beliefs, most people do not wish to have their “hot dogs” publicly displayed without their permission.
A person wrote in all caps, “I DID NOT NEED TO SEE TOMMY LEE’S DICK ON MY INSTAGRAM FEED TOMMY WHAT THE F**K,” not long after the picture first gained popularity. Another perplexed admirer tweeted, “Tommy Lee actually just showed his full penis to instagram huh.”
Another person commented and sent an edited version of the image with the words “Why is Tommy Lee’s dick on his instagram and WHY ARE THE GUIDELINES IGNORING IT.”
