The Time Bandit, a fishing vessel with captain Johnathan and Andy Hillstrand, has appeared in seasons 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 of the show.
The FV is a commercial fishing vessel, and as it had appeared on the show several times, spectators questioned if it would return for Season 17, which is currently airing.
However, the Time Bandit has been placed up for sale by Dock street brokers after suffering a severe engine breakdown in 2018. The fishing vessel is still for sale at 2.8 million dollars, according to the Dockstreetbrokers website, as of September 2020.
The skipper of The Times Bandit, Johnathan Hillstrand, and Andy Hillstrand, aka the Hillstrand brothers, have put the ship up for sale since 2018, according to TMZ.
The FV has a length of 113 feet and a capacity of 175,000 pounds of crab. It was built in 1991, and Hillstrand Brothers have been in charge of it since then.
The skipper brothers reportedly chose to sell the ship because Neal and his wife were set to divorce in October 2018, and his wife was entitled to a portion of the boat if it was sold.
The Deadliest Catch is a Discovery Channel reality show that has been broadcast since April 2005. The show follows the lives of crab fishers who work aboard fishing vessels in the treacherous Bering Sea waters.
