The new Tory leader will be announced on September 5th. Queen Elizabeth II, in a historic first, will appoint the UK Prime Minster at Balmoral Castle in Scotland rather than Buckingham Palace.
This is due to health concerns. The decision was made in consideration of the health of the British monarch, who has had mobility problems and has been advised by The Sun to remain in Balmoral.
To witness the Queen, the new British PM will be visiting Balmoral for a ceremony to officially transfer power.
After outgoing British PM Boris Johnson’s resignation on July 7, Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss are the two candidates in the UK Prime Ministerial Race.
The final round of voting for the Tories leader will be held in September, and will be conducted via mail. The party members will decide who the winner of the UK Prime Ministerial Race from the two finalists.
September 5th will see the announcement about Boris Johnson’s successor as UK Prime Minister.
