Mega Houndoom Raid in ‘Pokémon Go’: Counters and Everything You Need to Know, mega Houndoom is the next Mega Evolution to arrive in Pokémon Go, and trainers will get the opportunity to combat it when it debuts in Raids this week.
Mega Houndoom will join Venusaur, Charizard (X and Y), Blastoise, and Pidgeot in Mega Raids beginning Tuesday, September 29 at 4 p.m. EDT. By beating this Johto area Pokémon, trainers can battle and capture a normal Houndoom.

MEGA HOUNDOOM RAID COUNTERS IN POKEMON GO
Table of Contents
Mega Houndoom has some common attack weaknesses as a Dark and Fire-type Pokémon.
It is vulnerable to Water, Ground, Rock, and Fighting-type attacks, giving trainers a wide range of Pokémon to use in battle. Mega Houndoom, while it has a few flaws, also has a lot of resistances that trainers should avoid.
Mega is resistant to Fire, Dark, Grass, Steel, Psychic, and Ghost-type attacks, so avoid using Pokémon that have these types in combat.
There is one option for trainers who want to bring their own Mega Pokémon into battle against Mega.
The Water Type and attacks of Mega Blastoise will be useful against the Fire-type Houndoom.
Bringing Mega Blastoise into the Raid will also boost the Water-type attacks of other Trainers’ Pokémon who join you in the fight.
Aside from Mega Blastoise, the key will be to use powerful Rock-type Pokémon. Mega will be taken out swiftly because these Pokémon have a lot of fast and powerful Rock-type moves.
Here are a few Pokémon to consider using against Mega Houndoom in Pokémon Go:
Mega Blastoise with Water Gun and Hydro Cannon Rampardos with Smack Down and Rock Slide Rhyperior with Smack Down.
And Rock Wrecker Terrakion with Smack Down and Rock Slide Tyranitar with Smack Down and Stone Edge Conkeldurr with Counter and Dynamic Punch Terrakion with Smack Down and Rock Wrecker Terrakion with Smack Down.

Niantic has altered the prerequisites for Mega Evolution in Pokémon Go, so keep that in mind.
Mega Pidgeot required 100 Mega Energy to Mega Evolve for the first time, and Houndoom will require the same.
