On November 22, 1967, Mark Alan Ruffalo was born. He’s an actor from the United States. He began acting in the early 1990s and rose to prominence after appearing in Kenneth Lonergan’s play This Is Our Youth (1998) and the drama film You Can Count On Me (2000).
He went on to star in the romantic comedies 13 Going on 30 (2004) and Just Like Heaven (2005), as well as the thrillers In the Cut (2003), Zodiac (2007), and Shutter Island (2010).
In 2006, he was nominated for a Tony Award for his supporting role in the Broadway revival of Awake and Sing! Ruffalo was diagnosed with a vestibular schwannoma, often known as an auditory neuroma, after completing work on the film The Last Castle.
Although the tumour was discovered to be benign, the surgery to remove it left him with partial facial paralysis and impaired his hearing. After a year, the paralysis receded, but Ruffalo’s left ear remains deaf.
Scott Ruffalo, Ruffalo’s younger brother, was found with an execution-style bullet wound to the head outside his home on North Palm Drive in Beverly Hills on December 1, 2008.
Scott was rushed to the hospital, but he died a week later. The case is still open.
Ruffalo and his family call the Catskill Mountains their “home” in Sullivan County, New York. Ruffalo also has two New York City apartments, one for business and the other for investment. Ruffalo and his family spend their summers at Boothbay Harbor, Maine, where his mother and stepfather dwell.
