Marion Barber III was born on June 10, 1983, and died at the age of 38. He excelled in baseball, football, and track at Wayzata High School in Plymouth, Minnesota.

Dominique Barber, a former Houston Texans safety, and Thomas Barber, a Minnesota Golden Gophers linebacker, were Marion’s older brothers. Marion was the son of former New York Jets running back Marion Barber Jr. Marion Barber was Peyton’s cousin.

Marion is a professional American football running back who was picked in the fourth round by the Dallas Cowboys in 2005.

He had been a running back in the National Football League for seven consecutive seasons, averaging 4.1 yards per carry.

Marion attended Wayzata High School in Plymouth, Minnesota, where he excelled in football, baseball, and track and field.

As a senior running back and defensive back, he was unanimously named to the All-State team.

After completing his undergraduate education and establishing a baseball, football, and track record, he enrolled in the University of Minnesota, where he became a member of the Minnesota Golder Gophers, a collegiate football team.

Marion was a good runner, which prompted his coach to modify his job from safety to complete running back, despite his initial desire to keep him as a safety.

Barber finished his career as the school’s all-time leading rusher with 3,276 yards.

With 4,495 all-purpose yards, he was ranked second in all-purpose yards and rushing touchdowns with 35.

After teaming up with Laurence Maroney, who eventually became his first colleague in Division I (NCAA) history to dash for 1000 yards in consecutive seasons, he became one of the running backs in the University.

Marion Barber signed a five-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys in 2005, which lasted until 2010.

He signed a two-year, $5 million contract with the Chicago Bears in 2011.

He outperformed Chester Taylor as the top running back behind Matt Forte as he progressed with his new squad.
