Bianca Rudolph was an accomplished big game hunter who was killed in Zambia. She was with her husband, Larry Rudolph, on a hunting trip. They were both well known members of the Safari Club International, an organization that promotes hunting.
After her death, Rudolph tried to claim that Bianca committed suicide. He was also accused of filing a number of fraudulent claims to life insurance companies. Ultimately, he was charged with fraud and murder. The case was investigated by the FBI.
According to investigators, Bianca’s death was a premeditated murder plan. During the investigation, a “friend” of the couple contacted the FBI in Pretoria, South Africa. Their conversation included a laundry list of red flags.
One was a revolving door of women who worked for Lawrence Rudolph. Milliron was a coworker who allegedly had an extramarital affair with Larry. This was not the first time she was involved in an affair with him. In fact, prosecutors allege that she gave Larry an ultimatum that he should sell his dental practice within one year.
A professional hunting guide received $30,000 from Rudolph in January 2017. Two months later, another $23,000.
After Bianca’s death, Rudolph was given a $4.8 million payout. He used the money to buy two expensive cars and a new house in Phoenix. But he also purchased a plane ticket for his then-girlfriend to fly to Las Vegas.
Larry Rudolph’s indictment
In December 2021, Larry Rudolph was charged with the murder of his wife. It was a premeditated and intentional act. The wealthy Pennsylvania dentist allegedly killed his wife to collect life insurance money. He also sped up the cremation process for her body so he could sell it and buy a house in Arizona.
During his trial, the prosecution said Larry Rudolph’s motive for killing his wife was to gain money from a life insurance policy. He had seven life insurance policies. And, he was worth $15 million.
Rudolph and his wife Bianca were big game hunters. They had traveled to Zambia and Africa in the past. They also transported animals to the US. However, they never came back.
When Bianca died, the FBI was called. A friend of the deceased woman asked the agency to investigate her death. She reportedly told the agency she had been having an affair with Larry for at least 15-20 years.
After Bianca’s death, the FBI reconstructed her shooting. It was found that she was shot in the heart with a 12-gauge Browning shotgun. The gun went off at about 5:30 a.m. Several witnesses, including Spencer Kakoma, a game scout on the safari, heard the shooting.
According to the testimony, the couple was having trouble with their finances. When they decided to divorce, Bianca insisted on more control over her financial affairs.
Lori Milliron’s conviction
Lori Milliron was found guilty of lying to a grand jury last year. The 64-year-old was convicted of two counts of perjury and one count of obstruction of a grand jury.
She and Larry Rudolph were accused of having an extramarital affair. They were also accused of covering up the death of their wife. After Bianca’s death, prosecutors said the couple planned to take her life insurance money and start anew with their lover.
Rudolph allegedly killed Bianca. Local authorities initially believed that the death was an accident. But investigators from insurers, who paid for her funeral expenses, said the shotgun blast was accidental.
Lawrence Rudolph and his lawyer, David Markus, argued that he did not have a financial motive to kill his wife. He defended his actions by claiming that his wife was in a hurry to get home and he had no reason to murder her.
Larry and Milliron were both acquitted on three other counts of perjury. They plan to appeal their verdicts. This case is now set to go to trial in 2022.
Milliron listened intently during the opening statements of the trial. She was a witness. In her statement, she did not discuss the alleged murder, but did say she had been in a relationship with Larry for about 15 years.
