Kelli Carpenter: Rosie O’Donnell and Kelli Carpenter were once married. Discover what happened to their romance and get to know the two lovebirds.
Rosie O’Donnell’s former wife was Kelli Carpenter. They had been married for more than a decade when they decided to call it quits.
Her marriage to O’Donnell made them one of the most well-known couples in the fight against homophobia, therefore the news that they were splitting up made headlines.
Carpenter is a well-known producer who has worked on numerous productions. She was born in the United States on May 24, 1967. Carpenter is a busy traveller when she is not producing.
During her time with Rounds in 2013, O’Donnell adopted another child named Dakota.
One of the factors that drove her to co-found “R Family Vacations” with Gregg Kaminsky was her passion of travel. Carpenter also runs a podcast and works as a travel advisor for Tzell Travel, according to her Instagram account.
Kelli Carpenter is Rosie O’Donnell’s Ex-wife
Carpenter and O’Donnell started dating at a time when same-sex relationships were frowned upon. They married in San Francisco in 2004, only a few weeks after the city began allowing same-sex marriages.
Following their wedding, they decided to expand their family by adopting children. Chelsea and Blake, their daughter, were welcomed into the family. Carpenter also adopted Parker, a kid O’Donnell adopted before they married, and later used artificial insemination to have a daughter named Vivienne.
WHAT WAS IT THAT BROKED THEM UP?
Carpenter and O’Donnell were diametrically opposed in almost every way, and this was one of the reasons that pushed them apart. Carpenter has been described as “super-organized,” whilst her ex has been described as “messy.”
They lived very different lives. O’Donnell was reportedly at her best while painting, visiting her Miami home, and spending time on the water.
WHEN DID IT COME TO AN END?
Carpenter and O’Donnell broke their romance in 2007, but did not publicly announce their breakup until 2009. Carpenter just hinted that they were at a fork in the path at the time.
They are a family, according to O’Donnell, and will always be a family. She also stated that they are both attempting to resolve their differences.
O’Donnell had implied that she and Carpenter were over on her blog at the time of the interview, but she refused to reveal that the producer had moved out of their New York house and into Manhattan.
Even though both sides were more concerned about the safety of the four children they were in charge of, they were unable to stay together.
Carpenter found love again after her divorce from O’Donnell, with singer Anne Steele. Carpenter’s travel agency arranged for her to perform as an entertainment on a Broadway cruise.
Carpenter, who was known for being a brusque, often impersonal workaholic, made a daring move to start their relationship. They were both shy at first, but the chemistry they felt was undeniable.
Carpenter’s love bloomed and was nurtured in part by the four children she shares with her ex-wife. Carpenter and Steele were apparently forced to move in together by them.
On June 1, 2013, the two married, a few years after New York approved same-sex weddings. O’Donnell, on the other hand, fell in love with Michelle Rounds and married her in a secret wedding in June 2012.
During her time with Rounds in 2013, O’Donnell adopted another child named Dakota. In 2015, she and Rounds dissolved their relationship. When her eldest daughter gave birth to Skylar Rose, O’Donnell became a grandma.
