Kathryn Newton (born February 8, 1997) is an actress from the United States. Louise Brooks in the CBS comedy sitcom Gary Unmarried (2008–2010), Abigail Carlson in the HBO mystery drama series Big Little Lies (2017–2019), and Allie Pressman in the Netflix adolescent drama series The Society are among her most notable roles (2019).

She’s also recognised for playing Claire Novak’s older sister in The CW’s dark fantasy series Supernatural (2014–2018) and Joanie Clark in AMC’s period drama Halt and Catch Fire (2016–2017).

Newton has appeared in the comedy film Bad Teacher (2011), the supernatural horror film Paranormal Activity 4 (2012), for which she won the Young Artist Award for Best Leading Young Actress in a Feature Film, the crime drama film Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017), the sex comedy film Blockers (2018), the drama film Ben Is Back (2018), the Pokémon Detective Pikachu film (2019), the slasher comedy film Freaky (2020), and the Amazon Studios science fiction film The Expan (2021).

Kathryn Newton Early Life and Career

Newton is Robin and David Newton’s only child. She began her acting career at the age of four, playing Colby Marian Chandler on the ABC soap series All My Children from 2001 to 2004.

In the meanwhile, she appeared in two short films, Abbie Down East (2002) and Bun-Bun (2004). (2003). Newton was cast as Louise Brooks in the CBS television series Gary Unmarried in 2008.

Newton has been playing golf since she was a young girl. She began competing in tournaments at the age of eight. In 2015, Newton graduated from Notre Dame High School. She was a member of the girls golf team at Notre Dame High School.

She dropped out of USC to pursue a career in acting. She explored joining the University of Southern California women’s golf team as a “walk-on.”
