Karrin Margaret Taylor Robson, a Republican Party politician from Arizona and an American lawyer, land use specialist, was born in 1964 or 1965.

From 2017 to 2021, Taylor Robson served on the Arizona Board of Regents. Doug Ducey, the governor of Arizona, appointed her to the position.

Robson competed in the Republican primary for governor of Arizona in 2022 but lost to Trump-backed Kari Lake.

She was raised in Mesa, Arizona, where she was born Karrin Margaret Kunasek. The Kunasek family is well-known among Arizona’s Republicans.

Carl Kunasek, her father, served as chairman of the Arizona Corporation Commission and president of the Arizona State Senate.

Kathryn Frances Kunasek was her mother (1935–2020). She had a brother who served on the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors  from 1997 to 2017 named Andy.

Karrin Taylor education and professional life

At Arizona State University (ASU), Taylor Robson received her Bachelor of Arts in political science and history in 1988.

Taylor Robson worked as a staff assistant for the Office of Cabinet Affairs during the George H. W. Bush administration and the Economic Policy Council of President Ronald Reagan after graduating from college.

Taylor Robson departed the White House to pursue a legal education. She graduated from ASU’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law in 1994 with a Juris Doctor degree.

The real estate developer DMB Associates, based in Scottsdale, Arizona, employed Taylor Robson as executive vice president. Early in 2016, she quit DMB.

A principal at Biskind, Hunt & Taylor, P.L.C., Taylor Robson concentrated in real estate law, zoning, and land use. Robson was a state lobbyist for DMB and the founder of Arizona Strategies, a land-use consulting firm.  Taylor Robson stated that “truly 60% politics and 40% law” will make up land use regulation in 2020.

Taylor Robson was appointed in 2005 to the Civic Leaders program run by the Air Force Chief of Staff, where she worked as an unpaid advisor and liaison between the Air Force leadership and the local community around Luke Air Force Base.

Taylor Robson was touted as a potential choice to finish out John McCain’s term after the longtime Arizona senator passed away in 2018.

In the end, Martha McSally was chosen by Governor Doug Ducey to fill the position.

In June 2017, Taylor Robson was named to the Arizona Board of Regents by Ducey, who reappointed her in 2020 for a second eight-year term. In order to concentrate on her bid for the Republican nomination for governor, she resigned from the Board in July 2021.

2020 saw Taylor Robson become a member of the Arizona Women’s Hall of Fame.

Karrin Taylor Robson personal life

The Biltmore District of Phoenix is home to Taylor Robson. She is married to Ed Robson, the founder and CEO of Robson Communities and a multibillionaire real estate developer. Robson has property in Arizona and Texas, and his alma school Colorado College’s Ed Robson Arena bears his name.
