International Yoga Day 2022: Yoga is beneficial to people of all ages in terms of physical and mental health. Yoga can also be an important part of your treatment if you’re sick, recuperating from surgery, or living with a chronic condition. It can help you heal faster.

Sarvesh Sashi, Founder of SARVA, a yoga and wellness firm, spoke with Business Standard on the occasion of the International Day of Yoga.

Sashi emphasized the importance of yoga by pointing out a few dos and don’ts of the practice. Here are a few examples:

  • – Allow at least two hours between your previous meal and your yoga session.
  • – If you have a physical health condition, see a doctor before doing yoga.
  • – Stretch and warm up before doing yoga.
  • – Find a partner who will hold you accountable.

  • – If you have a medical condition such as hypertension, do not practice asanas without first visiting a professional.
  • – Don’t overlook the significance of proper breathing.

Yoga has been practiced in India since the 5th century and has proven to be helpful to both the body and mind.

Sashi claims that certain yoga asanas can aid in the treatment of diseases such as diabetes and PCOS.

“Testosterone levels in women can be reduced by 30% in 21 days of consistent practice,” he stated, citing a research.
