Fans of “Parks and Rec” Imagine How Leslie Knope Would Handle President-elect Biden’s Inauguration

Twitter had some fun with Amy Poehler’s and leslie knope beloved character, who once described her ideal man as having “the brains of George Clooney in the body of Joe Biden.”

Let’s hope someone is tempting her away from the White House with plenty of waffles!

On Wednesday, viewers of “Parks and Recreation” couldn’t help but ponder how Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) would have responded to Joe Biden’s inauguration.

Poehler’s character in the NBC comedy made no secret of her admiration for President Obama, describing him as having “the brains of George Clooney in a body like Joe Biden.”

In 2012, then-vice president Biden himself appeared in an episode of Scandal where Knope’s fiance, Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott), surprises her by setting up a meeting with him. In the scene, an enamored and tongue-tied Knope gazes longingly into Biden’s eyes and suggests she take Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s position; she demands a Secret Service agent protect him like “precious cargo”.

Many had a great time imagining how outrageous Knope would look as Biden was sworn in as president, leading to “Leslie Knope” trending on Twitter on Inauguration Day.

On top of that, several “Parks and Recreation” cast members joined in on the celebration.

On Tuesday night, Scott shared a clip of his character Shaking Biden’s hand on the show.

After Biden was inaugurated, Scott shared a GIF of Knope dancing along with the phrase “IT’S OVER.”

Retta, who played Donna Meagle on the show, replied “Yasssss! Leggo Joe!”
