Know about Anthony Mauro Tragic death

On January 27, Bay Ridge firefighter Anthony Mauro, 34, passed away.

Mauro was employed by the FDNY Engine 241/Ladder 109 station at Third Avenue and Wakeman Place. He is survived by his wife Alexandra, daughter Chiara, and son Anthony.

In 2020, following a seizure at work, Mauro received a brain cancer diagnosis.

On social media, the Uniformed Firefighters Association broke the heartbreaking news of Mauro’s passing.

Since Anthony Mauro’s death was reported online, a lot of people and his friends have been wondering what caused his unexpected passing.

Official updates state that Anthony Mauro was given the diagnosis of brain cancer in 2020 and has since been battling it.

Unfortunately, he was in the final stages of cancer when he passed away on January 27. His death devastated everyone, including his family and friends.

The Uninformed Firefighters Association broke the news of his sudden death on social media, writing, “It is with great regret that the department announces the passing of FF Anthony N. Mauro – Ladder Company 109, which occurred on January 27, 2023, while off duty.

He had a fighting spirit that most people lack, so his spirit will always be with us. We send his family our sincere condolences and will remain by them and in their corner.

The visitation services will now take place on February 1, 2023, at the Casey Funeral Home in Staten Island, 350 Slosson Ave., at 2 PM and 7 PM.

The funeral service will also be held on February 2 at 11 AM at St. Ann Church in Staten Island, 101 Cromwell Avenue. He will always hold a special place in our hearts, and his family will always feel his loss.
