The new Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, and her husband Doug Emhoff have moved into Blair House, the official guest house of the president of the United States.
Their January residence was a simple condo in Washington D.C. They moved into the property in the White House’s historic district late January.
As they begin a renovation of the house, the couple have had to stay in their bags while they finish the work.
According to the spokesperson of the US Secret Service, they won’t comment on the housing situation because security is a concern.
According to the office, the project will take a while, but they are hopeful that the renovations will be finished by February. Their main concern is that the house needs touch-ups and repairs.
One project is to replace the chimney liners at the Observatory Home. Household maintenance is another area of repair.
Emhoff’s and Harris’ offices declined to give more details on temporary living arrangements but indicated that they would “disclose it as soon possible.”
One of the main bedrooms features a large canopied bed and plush fabrics. It is reminiscent Mount Vernon. It also features an exercise room, laundry facility, and two conference rooms.
Westlight Apartments
