At the height of their fame, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen had a fan club, a magazine, a fashion line, and even a full movie franchise.

The twins made millions of dollars at a young age with their jointly owned company, Dualstar, and starred in films such as It Takes Two and New York Minute.

Full House

Full House fans will be familiar with the tale of Mary-Kate Olsen’s and Ashley Olsen’s famed role as Michelle Tanner.

From birth to age nine, they starred on the sitcom until it ended in 1995, and they were incredibly close with their co-stars.

Though they no longer make public appearances, Mary-Kate and Ashley still remain close to their castmates. And they’re happy to report that the show is as popular today as it was when they filmed it back in the ’90s.

In fact, Full House remains one of the most watched sitcoms on television today, with each new season seeing an increase in viewership.

The show’s most beloved characters, the Olsen twins were responsible for this.

Mary-Kate, Ashley, and their appearance on the series saw them continue to appear in a variety of films and TV shows.

Dualstar was their company and produced several successful direct-to-video films.

Since then, they’ve also branched out into fashion with their own label, The Row, and have won multiple Council of Fashion Designers of America awards.

New York Minute

The Olsen twins were 17 years old at the time of New York Minute, and it was their last starring role on film.

After a successful run of straight-to-DVD movies (through their own production company, Dualstar), TV shows and their eponymous clothing line, they decided to go back to school.

In the movie, Jane Ryan (Ashley) is a highly-organized super-achiever who’s on her way to deliver a speech to qualify for a prestigious college scholarship abroad.

Her laid-back sister Roxy Ryan (Mary-Kate) is a punk rock rebel who wants to get backstage at a music video shoot so that she can give her demo tape to the group.

Over the course of a 24-hour period, their day turns into a series of mishaps that throws them together, as they struggle to accomplish their goals in a chaotic manner.

When an operative for a Chinese crime syndicate slips an illegal chip device into Roxy’s handbag, they find themselves involved in a shady black-market transaction that could end up costing her a scholarship.

A truancy officer (Max Lomax) gets involved in the story too, and spends much of the film trying to track down Roxy to arrest her for breaking the law.

The Challenge

They are thrown into a world of humiliating challenges and petty rivalry that could make them closer or push them apart for good.

The group is split into Team Aztec or Team Mayan.

They are joined on the second team by Kelly (Sarah Bastian), a competitive swimmer; JJ, an eccentric “triple threat”, with hopes of stardom and Charles, who is a quiet, intuitive boy from the city and wants to learn psychotherapy.
