Newt gingrich george soros : Newt Gingrich is fired from Fox News for linking George Soros to violent protests.
Newt Gingrich, a former Republican congressman, was cut off by a Fox News panel after tying George Soros to the violence that has occurred during Black Lives Matter protests.
Gingrich was speaking on a Fox News piece on the cost of the damage caused by some violent protestors, which has resulted in more than $1 billion in insurance claims, according to Fox News.
He claimed that “Goerge Soros-elected, anti-police, pro-criminal district attorneys who refuse to keep people locked up” are the “number one problem” in cities like Portland, New York, and across the country, which have seen protests against police brutality since late May due to the killing of George Floyd.
“You can’t solve this problem,” he continued, “and both Harris and Biden have talked very proudly about what they call progressive district attorneys, who are anti-police, pro-criminal, and overwhelmingly elected with George Soros money, and they’re a major cause of the violence we’re seeing because they keep putting violent criminals back on the street.”
Melissa Francis, a Fox News host, then said: “I’m not sure we need to include George Soros in this discussion. Gingrich added, “I was going to say you get the last word, speaker…”, to which Gingrich continued to imply that Soros paid for the protests, wondering why the “millions of dollars” couldn’t pay for them “On the panel, there will be a discussion.
“No, he didn’t,” one of the other panellists stated emphatically. “I agree with Melissa that he didn’t need to be involved in this discussion.”
“OK… so it’s verboten,” Gingrich continued.
Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican candidate for Congress from Georgia, shared a post from conservative activist Jack Posobiec in response to Gingrich’s accusations being silenced:
Another Republican congressional candidate, Michigan’s David Dudenhoefer, tweeted about the episode, saying he hadn’t realised “how left Fox News has become until this precise moment”:
Gingrich himself tweeted on September 9: “Why do some on the left cry anti-Semitism just because we mention George Soros’ name? It is, after all, his name. He is financing district attorneys that are pro-criminal and anti-police. What is the left’s fear of facts?”
Who is George Soros, and where did he come from?
Goerge Soros is a Hungarian-American philanthropist and billionaire who founded and gave more than $30 billion to the Open Society Foundations, a grantmaking organisation that focuses on social justice and public health, among other things.
In an interview commemorating his 90th birthday in August, Soros stated that the Black Lives Matter campaign “truly important.”
He remarked, “This is the first time that a huge majority of the community, other than Black people, acknowledges that there is institutional prejudice against Blacks that can be traced back to enslavement.”
Because of his backing for progressive causes and Democratic politics, conservatives have regularly criticised Soros in anti-Semitic ways.
Donald Trump Jr. once posted a conspiracy theory accusing Soros of being a Nazi himself, despite the fact that Soros was a Jew who posed as a Christian with his family to survive Nazi-occupied Hungary during WWII.
