Ziva Leave NCIS – NCIS Casts[ Breakinh News]

NCIS Season 18 saw one character, Maria Bello’s Jack Sloane, exit the programme, while speculation circulated over whether another character, Mark Harmon’s Leroy Jethro Gibbs, would leave as well.

While Gibbs is expected to return for Season 19, the long-running drama has already lost a number of cast members.

Read on to see why Abby, played by Pauley Perrette, Ziva, played by Cote de Pablo, and Tony DiNozzo, played by Michael Weatherly, left the CBS procedural.
NCIS cast members’ reasons for leaving the show

Caitlin Todd – Sasha Alexander

Agent Todd was slain while fighting a terrorist cell in one of the most devastating moments in the early years of NCIS.

Alexander had wanted to be released from her six-year contract early behind the scenes. She intended to go on to other endeavours, according to the official line at the time.

Donald P. Bellisario, the showrunner at the time, later wrote a storey for the Chicago Tribune about the meeting. “I just can’t work this hard,” Sasha said, tears in her eyes.

“We work really long hours, and Sasha just didn’t feel she was physically up to that type of time and dedication,” he said.

In a 2012 TV Guide interview, Alexander stated that she finds the workload challenging: “People don’t realise that on a network programme, you make 24 episodes a year,” the Rizzoli and Isles actor said. “It’s hardcore because it’s 10 and a half months a year, 17 hours a day.”

Ziva David – Cote de Pablo

Cote de Pablo was brought in as a replacement for Alexander in Season 3, but her character returned to Israel in Season 10.

After her compound was blasted, she was assumed dead—though she made a surprise reappearance in Seasons 16 and 17.

“As far as my decision to quit, that’s a personal thing, and I’d rather leave it at that,” de Pablo told TV Guide in 2013. “The notion of leaving was not something I messed around with for a long time. It was an extremely hard thing—at times terrifying.”

“I sensed that the character was not being treated with the respect that she deserved…They were going to send her back to Israel and make her a sad, miserable woman,” she said during a Q&A in 2016.

“I asked myself, ‘What do I leave all the women who have been watching and following the show for so long?’ ‘I didn’t believe it was fair,’ I added. So I said, ‘I’m not going back unless someone can really write something wonderful for her.’

Tony DiNozzo – Michael Weatherly

Weatherly, a cast member since the show’s first season, left in Season 13 before swiftly joining the cast of another CBS sitcom, Bull.

“It came about at the appropriate time,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in August 2016, of this show, which was a key part of why he left NCIS. NCIS had worn me down, and I was looking for a fresh challenge. “Occasionally, a change is as nice as a rest.”

“It really felt like a circle that had gone all the way around,” he said in the same interview, “and I genuinely felt happy with the closure of character and my time on the programme.”

Abby Sciuto – Pauley Perrette

The most divisive of the major NCIS cast departures occurred in 2018, when fan favourite Pauley Perrette left the programme after 15 seasons.

Since leaving the CBS show, the performer has made a number of complaints, largely on Twitter.

In May 2018, she posted about “many physical assaults” on set, and when asked if she would return in 2019, she replied, “NO I AM NOT COMING BACK!” EVER! (Can you please stop asking?) I’m afraid of Harmon and the possibility of him harming me. It gives me nightmares.”

She also claimed she departed after objecting to Harmon’s dog being on site, and she tweeted photographs of an injury she claimed a crew member had gotten from the dog in a now-deleted tweet.

“Pauley Perrette had a tremendous time on NCIS and we are all going to miss her,” CBS said in a statement in response to the allegations.

Pauley came to us with a workplace issue over a year ago. We were concerned about the situation and worked with her to find a solution. On all of our shows, we are dedicated to maintaining a safe working environment.”

“I can’t respond to what she’s addressing in her tweets,” CBS Entertainment CEO Kelly Kahl said in an interview with USA Today.

She did come to us with a workplace complaint a few years ago, which we promptly investigated and addressed to everyone’s satisfaction.

We’re thrilled to have her back on the air this year with us [in the CBS show Broke], and I don’t think she’d return if she had any reservations.”

Jack Sloane – Maria Bello

Maria Bello, who had originally signed a three-season contract with NCIS, left the show in Season 18 after electing not to renew it.

Unlike Perrette, she ended her term on the show by posting on Instagram about how much fun she had on the show, writing: “I’ve learned many things on this trip for the last three and a half years.

” I learned about dedication and camaraderie. I’ve discovered that the woman I am prefers the process to the end result. I’ve never worked with a bunch of folks who were so friendly and generous.”

NCIS Season 18 premieres Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT on CBS, and all episodes are currently available to view on CBS.
