USA Soccer: With the USA’s exit in the last sixteen at the last World Cup firmly in the rearview mirror, it’s time to look ahead to the next tournament. There are plenty of fixtures between now and the 2026 competition that will give us an idea of how we can expect the team to perform.

What’s in store for the US men’s soccer team? Let’s analyze the World Cup prospects and the upcoming matches to see how smooth the path forward is.

USA: 2026 Hosts

USA Soccer: Road to the World Cup 2026

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will have 16 host cities, and 11 of those will be in the United States. The atmosphere will be electric. There’ll be added pressure as well as a home advantage for the US team. Fans won’t just be heading to pariuri fotbal NetBet; they can attend games in San Francisco, Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and several other locations.

The United States is co-hosting the tournament with Canada and Mexico. The full list of locations includes Toronto, Mexico City and New York/New Jersey. It’ll be a historic occasion for all three host countries, with the attention of the entire world of football fans on them.

2023/24 Matches

The 2026 tournament, which will see 48 nations compete for the trophy, seems a long way off. In the meantime, there are plenty of matches to see how the USA is performing and to check out the competition.

As hosts, Mexico, Canada and the USA have automatically qualified for the FIFA 2026 World Cup. However, CONCACAF matches towards the end of 2023 and Copa America games in 2024 are the ideal way to build and strengthen the team.

CONCACAF Nations League

November 2023 is your next opportunity to see the United States men’s team in action in the CONCACAF Nations League. They’ll play in a two-leg quarterfinal against Trinidad and Tobago. The other quarterfinal matches are an excellent opportunity to see how other sides are performing.

Costa Rica takes on Panama, while Jamaica and Canada are set to go head to head. The fourth quarterfinal is between Honduras and Mexico. Each of the future hosts will be in action and could face each other in the semifinals and finals, which are set to take place in March 2024.

Copa America

The 2024 Copa America will likely share some of the same venues as the World Cup. The exact venues haven’t been confirmed, but it’s possible that many of the same cities will act as hosts. It’s an ideal form of preparation for 2026.

Sixteen teams will come together, 10 from CONMEBOL and six from CONCACAF. The matches will take place from the end of June to the middle of July. The United States has a chance of participating. The four winning teams from the CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinals will secure their places, and the losing teams will compete for the final two spots.

Final Thoughts

While the team’s performance at the actual tournament is what counts most, the road to the competition can have a significant effect. If things go well for the USA, the 2023/24 fixtures can boost morale, help the team gel and give the nation a chance to practice its hosting skills!
