These are some of the Ambitious and The Top Five Upcoming Mega Projects in the World.

Top 5 Upcoming Mega Projects in the World

1. Nicaragua Grand Canal

Nicaragua’s Grand Canal is the longest canal of the Americas. Stretching over to 173 miles long and dwarfing the Panama Canal by a lot, which is about 48 miles long. The canal will cut the country into a half running through the largest lake of Central America, The Lake of Nicaragua. A $50 billion project, it will connect the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific Ocean. Nicaragua’s Grand Canal Project is a fascinating and yet highly talk able project. The name Nicaragua, is the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, it is approved to be a bill to grant a 50-year concession to the finance and to construct the project to the private Hong Kong Nicaragua Canal Development Investment Company (HKND Group), it is headed by Wang Jing, a Chinese billionaire. Though the construction of this Canal began in December 2014, it hasn’t been in full of construction not yet and it is swing due to protests of scientists and environmentalists. But when it is complete, it will be an easy way to connect the Americas with Europe and Asia.

Al Maktoum International Airport will be one of the biggest airport expansion projects. With an its budget of US $32 billion, this expanded airport will have the capacity to be the busiest airport of the whole world. When it complete, This Airport will be able to accommodate more than 220 million passengers per year and a total cargo of 16 million tonnes. It is to be believed that this is to be the biggest airport project of the world, the entire development of this airport will cover an area of more than 56 square kilometers and can accommodate 100 A380 aircrafts in it which are as big as two-thirds of a football field.

3. Japan’s Maglev High-Speed Rail

Maglev high-speed rail is one of the Japan’s most ambitious projects to come. Japan is spending over US $85 billion over this project in the next 30 years to connect its three main cities namely: Tokyo, Nagoya, and Kyoto. Stretching this project over 300 miles, this maglev train will travel at the speed of about 600 kilometers, meaning the people can travel across the country in just 67 minutes. It’s amazing to hear about this project as it saves the time of the people.

This Maglev technology, which uses the powerful magnetic charges to move the rail carts in the several inches above the guideway path. This technology offers frictionless motion to this High-Speed Rail and thus enormously increasing the speed.

4. Masdar City

Masdar city is a most ambitious and futuristic project in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, This City is already under construction. It is acclaimed as a zero-carbon and zero waste city as it is clean project. This City has an estimated budget of US $22 billion. Started in the Year of 2006, in which the phase one of the city will soon be completed in the Year of 2015. The city will completely depend on the renewable resources, such as 88,000 solar panels that will spread across 54 acres of land.

This kind of project is the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor, which is an international nuclear fusion and engineering grand project. Currently, it is under construction in Southern France, it is a collaboration between the states namely USA, EU, India, China, Russia, South Korea, and Japan. This Grand Project is started with an estimated budget of US $50 billion, some of the scientists will try to fuse the atoms to produce more than 10 times power than the input power, that means it will produce 500 megawatts of electric energy with an input of 50 megawatts in this project.

With energy being produced with such an efficiency, this is definitely the only most attractive project to look forward to.
