Sanditon Season 2, based on Jane Austen’s last unfinished novel. It tells the story of Charlotte Heywood, a young woman who is spirited and embarks upon a journey to Sanditon. Soon, she attracts not just one but two men’s attention.

Meanwhile, Alison Parker (Rosie Graham) swoons over a regiment of soldiers who alight on the town, while Georgiana Lambe (Crystal Clarke) is keen to forge her own identity, getting up to mischief in the name of love. There’s also intrigue, romance and more.

Season 2 of Sanditon is here with more romances and new challenges for residents.

Adapted from Jane Austen’s unfinished novel of the same name, it follows Charlotte Heywood (Rose Williams) who, after losing her heart to Sidney Parker (Theo James) in season one, returns to Sanditon and finds herself on the receiving end of multiple romantic proposals.

Kris Marshall, Love Actually, Death in Paradise, is returning to portray Tom Parker.

He tries to rebuild his town following a devastating fire in season 1. Meanwhile, Kate Ashfield returns as Mary Parker, Tom’s wife and mother of his children.

Anne Reid, Coronation Street and Last Tango in Halifax, stars as Lady Denham.

She is the demanding chief investor in an ambitious scheme to transform Sanditon, a sleepy coastal town, into a trendy holiday spot. Alexander Vlahos plays Charles Lockhart (Outlander), a charismatic and quirky character.

The army arrives to make Sanditon their new base and the town’s dysfunctional Denham family is causing more trouble.

Expect new relationships, friendships, and challenges as you deal with unexpected issues, lies, and other surprises.

The series of period dramas adapted from Jane Austen’s incomplete novel has had a rough start. PBS Masterpiece and BritBox picked up the show after ITV dropped it.

Masterpiece PBS will air Season 2 on March 20, The Amazon Prime Video Channel will have it available for viewing. Prime subscribers get a 7-day trial, and $5.99/month thereafter.

Rose Williams and Crystal Clarke, original series stars, will return for more fun in Sanditon.

Anne Reid, Coronation Street and Last Tango in Halifax), will play Lady Denham as the prominent chief investor, who intends to transform Sanditon’s sleepy coast into a trendy holiday destination.

Kris Marshall plays Tom Parker, Kate Ashfield portrays Mary Parker, Turlough Convery is Arthur Parker.

Ben Lloyd-Hughes plays Alexander Colbourne. He is a mysterious resident and takes an interest Georgiana Lambe.

Jack Fox is Sir Edward Denham, Lady Denham’s eldest son; Lily Sacofsky plays Clara Brereton, Lady Denham’s niece; and Charlotte Spencer is Esther Babington, another relative of the aristocratic family.

Synopsis

One year ago, Charlotte Heywood (Rose Williams), returned home to Sanditon to discover a different Sanditon. The residents have become more open to romance after a regiment of soldiers arrives.

As the town gets ready for its annual fair, Mr. Colbourne and his daughters make significant improvements.

Lieutenant Colonel Lennox, his subordinate Captain Fraser start to take an interest in Charlotte.

Charlotte also continues to tame her spirited sister Alison. But she can’t help being drawn to the handsome soldier, Captain Carter.

New cast members include Alexander Colbourne, a wry local recluse; Colonel Francis Lennox, a dynamic officer of the guard; and Charles Lockhart, a Bohemian artist. Georgiana Lambe is our main lady.

But a tragic revelation is at the forefront of Season 2. Sidney Parker is killed in Antigua, leaving Charlotte and all the residents of version 2.0. And that leaves us wondering if love really is as simple as Charlotte and Sidney would have you believe.

Eight months have passed since Charlotte Heywood last saw us. Now, she has returned to Sanditon along with Alison.

A regiment of soldiers is arriving to establish camp in the town, which has seen a significant increase in population.

The cast returns, led by Rose Williams as the independent-minded Charlotte. Crystal Clarke returns as Georgiana Lambe (West Indies heiress), who is a friend to Charlotte, and has a difficult time balancing her many suitors.

Season 2 builds on Jane Austen’s foundation, expanding its fantasy ambitions and intrigue.

The second season features a cast that includes Colonel Lennox (Tom Weston Jones), a confident leader of Sanditon’s army.

Alexander Colbourne, a wealthy reclusive man with his sights on Charlotte; and Charles Lockhart (Alexander Vlahos), a Byronic artist who arrives in town to receive a lucrative portrait commission.

The new season is available on PBS Masterpiece and on PBS Passport. The new season airs on Sunday, March 20, at 9/8c.
