Aldo Gucci was born in Florence, Italy on May 26, 1905. He was the son of Guccio Gucci and Aida. His father, a fashion designer, founded the House of Gucci in Florence in 1921. The family business would eventually expand across the globe.

Aldo and his younger brother Rodolfo became co-owners of the company. They took over the business when their father died in 1953.

Rodolfo worked in the company’s production and design departments. At the time of his death in 1983, he had appeared in more than 40 films.

In the late ’60s, Guccio’s youngest son Paolo tipped off the IRS about the elder Gucci’s tax evasion. It was not until the following year that the IRS took action against the company.

Maurizio Gucci was a fashion designer who became the heir to the Gucci empire after his father’s death. He inherited the entire business and sold half of it to an investment firm. But his life was not long. His death was the result of an assassin.
