Michael “Micky” Hourihan died: What happened to him?

Michael Hourihan, the chairman and founder of the football team, has unfortunately passed away. Leeds AFC confirmed Hourihan’s death.

Leeds AFC posted a touching tribute to its chairman. The message reads:

“It is with great sorrow that Leeds AFC mourn the loss of Michael “Micky”, Hourihan, our chairman.

“Micky has been the backbone of our club from the beginning and has supported us in so many ways, both on and off the pitch.”

“Our club wouldn’t be the same without Micky, and we send our deepest condolences and sympathies to Norma and Fiona and Declan and Ronan and Kieran and all his extended families at this very difficult time.”

“Micky was above all things a great husband, father, and a wonderful person who always thought about others and lit up every room he was in.” Micky was an icon in Leeds and across Cork.

Micky did more than once risk his life to make sure our club survived. Micky was there for almost every game, even when he was sick.

We are sad, but we will keep Micky’s dream of Leeds Park being a community place alive! RIP – Mr Leeds.”

Michael “Micky” Hourihan Cause of Death:

After a long battle with cancer, Micky died peacefully. Cancer was the cause of death for Michael “Micky”, Hourihan.

Micky is the founder of AFC Club. He is survived by Fiona, Declan and Kieran.

Leeds AFC Cork has over 400 members and is located in Ballyvolane, Ireland, just outside Cork City.
