Police have reported that a man was arrested in connection to an incident at a Brisbane food court, which resulted in Lauie tagaloa being stabbed and killed.
According to News.com.au a man aged 20 was arrested by Queensland Police and charged with murdering a 24-year-old boy at Valley Metro station outside Fortitude Valley on Monday, July 11.
Lauie Tagaloa stabbed to death
Police allege that Lauie Tagaloa (24 years old) was killed in a confrontation between two groups.
Seyram Kwami Dajentuh (20) from Birkdale was arrested Monday night for Mr Tagaloa’s murder.
Queensland Police Inspector Sean Cryer stated to the publication that he observed a disturbance in the public while observing the Brisbane City Council CCTV systems.
“Upon closer inspection, they discovered a male figure lying on the ground with blood on his clothes.” Tagaloa was later identified as this person.
An video taken at the time appears to show the confrontation of two groups of people, including Tagaloa, the man accused of his murder.
The footage shows the confrontation that began with two groups screaming at each other around 4am. Then, a fight breaks out between the two parties.
The attack left Tagaloa stumbling backwards, and he collapses. The scene was then allegedly escaped by three men. A witness tried to give first aid but Tagaloa, aged 24, died at the scene.
Man charged for Lauie Tagaloa crime
Police arrested Seyram KwamiDjentuh (20 years old), from Birkdale and charged him for the murder of Tagaloa. News.com.au reports.
According to the publication, Djentuh was also mentioned at Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning. However, he did not appear in person or apply for bail. The matter was now adjourned to August 8.
The Mail reports that two additional men, aged 20 and 21, assisted police in their investigation and are still awaiting charges.
