Sources report the lifeless body of Taner Savut was discovered on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 – more than two weeks after he passed away.
Since the news spread online, his fans and loved ones are paying their respects and offering their deepest condolences to his family members who are grieving.
Journalist T. Kla Wesley Jr wrote,” Hatayspor’s Sporting Director Taner Savut passed away Tuesday after two weeks of earthquakes in Turkey; his remains were discovered close by Christian Atsu’s.” Several posts confirm his passing as well.
Taner Savut Death cause
He was a Turkish football club player who competed in the Super Lig. After representing several clubs around Turkey, his fan following grew immensely as an experienced player before transitioning into sports director duties.
Born August 10th 1974 in Izmir, Turkey, Taner began his footballing career at Izmirspor in 1994 before moving on to Fenerbahce, Goztepe and Siirtspor before retiring as a player.
Savut played for several lower-division teams such as Sakaryaspor, Alanyaspor and Tokatspor. He earned the respect and affection of many in the football community.
Tragically, Savut tragically passed away due to an earthquake that struck Iskenderun in Turkey where he resided; his body was discovered beneath the rubble of a building that collapsed while he was living there.
Still, efforts are being made in Turkey to rescue those left under the rubble for an extended period of time. So far, several rescue missions have managed to save thousands of people.
