Weedle Community Day in Pokémon GO: How To Get A Shiny, Powerful Beedrill
Shiny Beedrill : I never expected to see a Weedle Community Day in Pokémon GO, let alone one that was decided by fans.
But it’s not quite as ridiculous as it sounds.
The Weedle, Kakuna, and Beedrill evolutions are the only new family of shinies on the original list of potential Community Days, so that’s something people want to see.
Shiny Beedrill is a green beedrill, which is pretty cool.
But, beyond that, pro GO players realised that Beedrill’s new unique ground attack, Drill Run, would make it a formidable opponent in Pokémon GO’s Great League against best-in-CP rivals like Azumarill and Registeel.
Weedle Community Day runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time, with the six-hour “quarantine rules” remaining in effect, as well as three-hour incense instead of three-hour lures, allowing you to farm Weedle wherever you want.
As far as I’m aware, the official spawn rate for shinies during Community Day events is 4.1 percent, which means that roughly one out of every 25 encounters will be a shiny, which is higher than normal, which is why everyone wants to farm as many shinies as possible.
The goal is to collect your best CP and then evolve them by the end of the event to become the Great League champion of the future.
I suppose the gleaming part isn’t absolutely necessary, but it’s a nice bonus.
But I’m guessing you already have enough Weedle candy to evolve a few different Beedrill options, shiny or not, because, after all, how often do you evolve Beedrills in the first place, and how common have Weedles been for years?
I find this to be a rather amusing event, simply because this is a Gen 1 Pokémon I never expected to be “featured.”
Pidgey Community Day, what’s next? I mean, at this point, I wouldn’t rule anything out.
Gastly was the other winner of the Community Day poll, and they will be the featured Pokémon of July’s Community Day, complete with a shiny version (that already exists) and a different special move, though I can’t recall what it is off the top of my head. I guess I’ll have to wait a month to find out.
Get out there and catch some Weedles, in any case. That’s a GO phrase I never expected to use.
