Story of the Film

The Film Newton is a 2017 Indian Hindi-language black comedy film which is directed by Amit V Masurkar. Produced by Drishyam Films, this film is Masurkar’s second feature after his debut film, the slacker comedy independent film Sulemani Keeda in the the year 2013. The Film Newton had its world premiere in the Forum section of the 67th Berlin International Film Festival, and is all set to have its North American premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival where it screens in the International Narrative Competition section.

The of the Film Newton revolves the Newton Kumar, a rookie government clerk, who is sent on the election duty to a naxal-controlled town in the conflict-ridden jungles of the Chhattisgarh, India. Faced with the apathy of the security forces and the looming fear of the guerrilla attacks by the communist rebels, he tries his best to conduct the free and fair voting despite the odds stacked against him.

Rajkumar Rao

Rajkummar Rao is an Indian actor who appears in the Hindi films. Rajkumar Rao has established a career in the Hindi cinema and is the recipient of a National Film Award and a Filmfare Award after the three nominations. After graduating, he moved to Mumbai for a film career and made his film debut with the year of 2010 experimental anthology film Love Sex Aur Dhokha. After starring in brief roles in the several of the highly successful Hindi films of the following two years, he achieved success for his breakout role in the year 2013 with the drama film Kai Po Che! for which he was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor award at the Filmfare.

The Actor Sanjay Mishra is an Indian film actor who is known for his works predominantly in the Hindi cinema and television. An alumnus of the National School of Drama, he made his acting debut in the year of 1995 film Oh Darling! Yeh Hai India! Later the films include Rajkumar in the year of 1996 and Satya in the year of 1998. He also appeared as Apple Singh, an “icon” used by the ESPN Star Sports during the year of 1999 Cricket World Cup.
