Jio Studios is one of the leading names in Indian filmmaking. Since its debut with Stree (2018) starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, it has produced several memorable films across languages and genres.
On April 12th, 2019, Jio Studios will host a grand event at a convention centre in Mumbai to which several mediapersons have been invited.
Jio Studios to Hold a Grand Event TomorrowWhile there’s no specifics given regarding what the event will entail, guests will experience an evening filled with celebrations and surprises!
Bollywood Hungama has learned some intriguing details about tomorrow’s event. According to our source, “It will be similar to the events held by Amazon Prime Video and Netflix last year when they announced their slates of films and shows.
Jio Studios has several projects underway – expected to make formal announcements of these movies and web series soon.” As for films already announced, sneak peeks will be shown and release dates will also be disclosed.”
At the event, it’s expected that Shahid Kapoor and Ali Abbas Zafar’s film Bloody Daddy, tentatively titled Bloody Daddy, will be unveiled for the first time along with its official title and release date – likely straight on digital.
Jio has also recently invested in The Immortal Ashwatthama which could possibly get official announcements at this event along with star cast information.
Lastly, Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik’s horror universe including Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Stree 2 and Sharvari Wagh’s Munjha might also give mediapersons a sneak peek or first look of Dinesh Vijan/Amar Kaushik films like Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Stree 2 or Munjha may also be shown off to media personnel.”
While other films that could potentially join the lineup include Shahid Kapoor-Kriti Sanon’s untitled next, directed by Dinesh Vijan; Radhika Madan-starrer Kacchey Limbu; and Paresh Rawal-starring The Storyteller directed by Ananth Narayan Mahadevan.
The source revealed, “The star cast of each film may also take the stage to announce their respective films.
Additionally, Jio Studios has also supported Dunki with Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani as its release partner.
Thus, viewers will get to see Dunki’s teaser or any visuals from this eagerly anticipated movie; furthermore, we’ll see if either SRK or Rajkumar make an appearance at the event or will it be skipped altogether.”
Finally, Bollywood Hungama was the first to report that Hrithik Roshan-Saif Ali Khan starrer Vikram Vedha (2022) and Varun Dhawan-Kriti Sanon starrer Bhediya (2022) will be released on Jio Cinema app and their OTT release dates will be discussed at an exclusive event.
According to reports, Vikram Vedha will debut on Jio Cinema on May 8 while Bhediya will hit theaters on April 21.
