Sweeney began 158 games for Green & White in a single year, starting on December 9, 1984 and ending on Christmas Eve ten years later.
Mt. Sweeney, a Lebanon native, played for the Pitt Panthers between 1980 and 1983 before being selected by the New York Jets as the second rounder in the 1984 NFL Draft.
